    Mike was born on the Isle of Wight and was educated in southern England. After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of London he worked for a number of multinational petrochemical companies in various roles including production, research, design and consultancy, all of which involved travelling extensively throughout the world. Mike’s final role was that of European Operations Director for Borden Chemicals plants in the UK, Holland, France and Spain. However, everything changed in 2003 when he met Marie. They were married in early 2004 and have since travelled all over the world on various dance projects. As a co-founder of the Marie Duffy Foundation, Mike has found a new inspiration and is very excited about the future of Foundation.

  • Pearl Ford and Myra O’Donovan

    Events and Fundraising Team

    For the Foundation to survive we need the help and support of the Irish Dancing community worldwide. Pearl and Myra, both from Limerick, Ireland, have been involved in Irish Dancing though their daughters for the last number of years. Currently based in the London area, they joined MDF early in 2017 as our Event and Fundraising team. They are available to help you, as you help us, by hosting an event to raise awareness or raise money for the Foundation.
    We can support you as follows:

    • Hold a Raffle Pack – Tips, Ribbon, MDF Leaflets
    • Run a Shoe Bank – Pack Instructions, Leaflets, Stickers
    • Organise a night out – Race Night, Quiz night etc
    • Phone support for any questions you may have

    The Foundation is expanding globally and has recruited to the team a number of highly committed, passionate, active, self-motivating individuals who share our vision. As this global team continues to grow, we will work together to prepare and implement a programme of fundraising activities and events. We look forward to supporting our team members as they contribute to and initiate these events and raise awareness of our activities and awards, particularly in their geographically based areas.
